Business Development Mission to Panama June 12th-15th, 2011

As Executive Director of the Office of Economic Development and International Trade (OEDIT) of Miami-Dade County, I am pleased to invite you to participate in the OEDIT Business Development Mission to Panama from June 12th thru the 15th, 2011.
Panama’s stable and strong economy and several construction projects and infrastructure improvements present numerous business opportunities for U.S. companies. In 2010, Miami-Dade’s total trade with Panama was $1.3 billion and total exports reached $1.1 billion, representing an increase of 28% from the previous year.

The objectives of the mission are to explore ways to increase bilateral trade between Panama and Miami-Dade, and to position Miami Dade as the “Global Gateway” for business in light of the expansion of the Panama Canal by 2014. International trade remains a critical component to Miami-Dade’s prosperity - fueling economic growth and supporting the creation of jobs. Consistent with the recently established National Export Initiative (NEI) the mission to Panama is designed to assist Small and Medium size businesses (SME’s) in Miami-Dade to take advantage of new markets.
During the mission, participants will have the opportunity to meet with high level government officials, receive country briefings, network with business and representatives of the local chamber of commerce or business associations, as well as, participate in pre-arranged business-to-business matchmaking meetings with local companies.
I want to especially thank our partners Enterprise Florida Inc., the Consulate General of Panama in Miami, and the Panamanian American Chamber of Commerce USA (PACC-Miami) for supporting this mission. I am certain this mission will provide an excellent opportunity for your business or organization, and I look forward to having you join us on June 12th. CLICK HERE TO REGISTER

Sincerely,

J.A. Ojeda, Jr.

Executive Director
