Export Development Trade Mission to Peru

March 23-25, 2015

Join Secretary of Commerce Gray Swoope on an Export Development Trade Mission to Peru scheduled for March 2015. Peru is Florida’s eighth largest trading partner. More than $2.8 billion in Florida products were exported to Peru last year, and Peruvian imports totaled $2.6 billion. In 2013, Peru achieved its 15th consecutive year of economic growth at 5% and Peru continues to be one of the best performing economies in Latin America. Projections include a 4% growth rate in 2014 and 5% in 2015, estimates that are still considered to be below the country’s potential.

Recognizing the vast potential to expand Florida trade within this market, Enterprise Florida (EFI) will lead an Export Development Mission to Peru as part of its strategy to market Florida exports in Latin America. EFI will offer a limited number of Gold Key Matchmaking one-on-one appointments through the U.S. Commercial Service for participating Florida companies. The price of this service is $1,050.00. However small and mid-sized Florida manufacturers and eligible high tech companies and professional service providers may qualify for a Gold Key Grant, which will offset 100 percent of the Matchmaking Registration fee for the first company representative. A Delegate option is available as well for $500.00 per person.

What Are They?  Trade leads include foreign companies who are interested in making direct purchases from Florida companies, acting as a manufacturer's representative or agent/distributor, and joint ventures.  In support of EFI's Africa Trade Expansion Program, we also provide leads from African companies looking to sell their products or services to Florida and the U.S. 

Where Do They Come From?  The majority of these leads are generated by our International Offices in 14 overseas markets. 

How Can I Follow Up On These Leads?  If you wish to follow up on any of these leads, you can contact the foreign company directly with the information provided on the detailed report.  We ask that you also copy the International Office or Florida staff-person that submitted the lead.  Their information is also included in the report.  Please be sure to mention that you received this information from Enterprise Florida.

Florida distributors should be aware that they may be required to have the right to distribute products in a particular country before doing business there.  Please contact the person who submitted the lead if you have any questions.

Enterprise Florida, the state’s lead economic development organization, will be leading a mission to Lima, Peru. You are invited to join Florida Secretary of Commerce Gray Swoope and other business leaders for this export and trade event.

Peru is Florida’s eighth largest trading partner. More than $2.8 billion in Florida products were exported to Peru last year, and Peruvian imports totaled $2.6 billion. Forecasts for the market remain strong.

In 2013, Peru achieved its 15th consecutive year of economic growth at 5% and Peru continues to be one of the best performing economies in Latin America. Projections include a 4% growth rate in 2014 and 5% in 2015, estimates that are still considered to be below the country’s potential.

Recognizing the vast potential to expand Florida trade within this market, Enterprise Florida (EFI), will lead an Export Development Mission to Peru as part of its strategy to market Florida exports in Latin America. This mission will provide Florida companies with the opportunity to expand their business and build new relationships.

Registration Options

Option 1 - Gold Key Package*
First company representative - $1,050.00
Additional company representative - $450.00

*EFI will offer a limited number of Gold Key Matchmaking one-on-one appointments through the U.S. Commercial Service for Florida manufacturers, distributors, and service companies that best meet the participation criteria. Gold Key Grants will be available for qualified Florida companies to offset 100% of the Matchmaking Registration fee for the first company representative. A separate application process will be required for this grant. Participants will be selected on a first-come, first-served basis.

Enterprise Florida still has six Florida-Brazil Market Entry Grants to award to small and medium-sized companies interested in establishing a presence in the Brazilian market. Valued at $1,050.00, these grants cover the cost of a two-day Gold Key (one-on-one business matchmaker service) for companies that are new to exporting to Brazil. The American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE) is very pleased to be working with the U.S. Trade and Development Agency (USTDA) and the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration on a major U.S./Latin America/Caribbean Airport Resiliency Workshop. This technical, policy and commercial forum will enable regional representatives to engage with U.S. industry on best practices, technologies and services needed both to respond to and recover from natural disasters and other emergency events. Invited representatives will include senior government officials from Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Jamaica, Mexico, Panama, Peru and the United States.
This webinar series will provide valuable insights to new and experienced exporters who will gain knowledge of export opportunities in this dynamic region. Companies will learn about best prospects, financial and legal considerations, logistics, e-commerce, free trade agreements, tax incentives, and marketing strategies in six countries in Central America. Participants will also understand and appreciate the cultural differences, economic conditions and technological capabilities of potential partners. This six-part webinar series is also a venue to prepare participating U.S. companies for a more successful experience during the upcoming Trade Mission to Central America in conjunction with the Trade Americas - Opportunities in Central America Conference, June 21-26, 2015.
