Florida Launches New Export Resource Guide
New guide helps Florida
small businesses connect with global markets
Miami, Fla. (May
25, 2016) - Enterprise Florida Inc. (EFI), in partnership with ThinkGlobal Inc., recently
launched the 2016
Florida Export Guide, a magazine-style
guide with a focus on Florida exporting. The Guide provides Florida
small- and medium-sized businesses with key resources for exporting,
including a directory of contacts, websites, best practices and other
helpful information.
“When it comes to export promotion and trade
development, international business is a cornerstone of Florida’s
economy,” said Manny Mencia, senior vice president for international
trade and development at EFI. “We want the Florida Export Guide to help promote Florida’s strengths in
the global marketplace and fuel small business growth in our state.”
Florida is a major force in U.S. international trade. Since 1996,
Florida exports have more than doubled, growing from $20.7 billion to
nearly $54 billion in 2015 and making Florida the sixth largest export
state in the country. Among Florida’s key export industries are
aerospace, information technology, life sciences and clean tech. No
other site in the Western Hemisphere can match Florida’s unique
combination of strategic geographic location, state-of-the-art
infrastructure, multilingual workforce and concentration of corporate
and financial resources.
Working with state and federal trade development
organizations such as the Florida SBDC Network, the U.S. Small Business
Administration, EXIM Bank, and the U.S. Commercial Service, the 2016 Florida Export Guide will
become an indispensible tool for companies who are new-to-export as
well as seasoned exporters.
EFI offers many programs and services, explained within
the Guide, to assist Florida companies with reaching international
markets, including:
· Export counseling
· Educational
events
· Overseas trade
missions and shows
· International
trade events newsletter
· Florida Export
Directory
· Export Marketing
Plans
· Target Sector
Trade Grants
· Gold
Key/Matchmaker Grants
· Network of
international offices
Copies of the 2016
Florida Export Guide are available through statewide and local
economic development agencies, chambers of commerce, world trade
centers, ports and private-sector services providers.
The guide was made possible through a partnership with ThinkGlobal Inc., a content
development and multimedia publishing company that specializes in the
business-to-business (B2B), international business and higher education
markets.
