ITC Board approves Mission to Senegal and South Africa

At the March 13th, 2009 meeting, the Board of Directors voted to approve an ITC joint mission with the Miami-Dade Sister Cities program to Dakar, Senegal and Cape Town, South Africa from October 17th-25th, 2009. The Sister Cities affiliation agreements with these two African cities are progressing, and the Mayor of Senegal has already indicated an approval of this affiliation. The completion of these agreements will come as a direct result of the ITC 2007 trade mission to South Africa, and will mark the program's first ever affiliation with communities in Africa.

Calendar of activities for July 2009

In an effort to keep the business community in South Florida informed on trade related activities, the Jay Malina International Trade Consortium (ITC) of Miami-Dade County has compiled a list of trade related events for 2009.

The month of July features:
•July 7th and July 14th - Import/Export seminars hosted by the Florida Foreign Trade Association
•July 7th-14th - West Africa Regional Conference in Lagos and Abuja, Nigeria hosted by the Foundation for Democracy in Africa and EFI.
•July 8th - City of Miami is hosting a construction expo at Jungle Island designed to connect developers with small businesses and the community.
•July 9th - UM’s Center for Hemispheric Policy will be giving a seminar on Mexico’s Security Challenges and Impact on the Economy
•July 19th–23rd - Inbound trade mission from Venezuela will take place at the Miami Free Zone hosted by the Florida Foreign Trade Association
•July 31st - The registration deadline for Miami-Dade County’s Official Business Development Mission to Brazil is limited to 20 participants on a first come first serve basis. To register for the mission, please link to:
